UDIG
UDIG "is an open source spatial data viewer/editor, with special emphasis on the OpenGIS standards for internet GIS, the Web Map Server and Web Feature Server standards. UDIG will provide a common Java platform for building spatial applications with open source components".

JUMP Unified Mapping Platform
The foundation of The JUMP-Project is a suite of free, open-source applications that provide an extensible API and graphic user interface (GUI) for viewing and manipulating spatial data-sets.
