TERRIS (Terrestrial Environment Information System) is the Geographical Information System that contains the geo-referenced information available at the EEA, organised in an optimum and consistent way. Specifically, all data layers are maintained in the new European geographical reference system (ETRS89 date, GRS80 ellipsoid), with extensive metadata, and a structured relational database. TERRIS is especially oriented to facilitate spatial analysis and the development of environmental indicators used in policy-making at the national and European levels.
